The Children’s Centre Project

The project’s vision is to provide a purpose-built Children’s Centre within the grounds of Hanslope Primary School to accommodate Hanslope Pre-School, the 326 After School Club and hopefully the Sure Start Project too.  The new building will then offer additional child-centred facilities for the wider community and surrounding villages.

For many years Hanslope parents have had to rely heavily on the work of community organisations to provide services which in other areas are provided or supported by the local authority.

Our aims arise from the belief that the problems parents face in raising children in rural areas have been insufficiently recognised either locally or nationally and that our own children’s groups now need a helping hand.

Hanslope Pre-school and the 326 After School Club have been operating over many years to provide child care and education for children aged between 2.5 and 11 years, in accommodation that is not ideal and presents severe limiting factors.  The Hanslope Children’s Centre Community Interest Company is a new social enterprise company formed to support these two village charities. Please see the website for further information about the Children’s Centre Project.
